Russians allowed to perform at Paralympic Games with flag and anthem

Russian athletes will participate in the Paralympic Games and other competitions held under the auspices of the International Paralympic Committee with the national flag and anthem. This is reported on the official website of the Russian Paralympic Committee, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
From September 26 to 27, the IPC General Assembly is taking place in the South Korean capital. The participants of the event voted against the complete suspension of the RPC’s membership, as well as against the continuation of the partial suspension of its membership.
“Russian Paralympians will participate with the flag and anthem of the Russian Federation and other national attributes in the Paralympic Games and competitions in sports for which the International Paralympic Committee performs the functions of international federations,” the statement said.
These sports include swimming, track hockey, athletics, shooting and powerlifting.
The publication notes that the Russians will continue to compete in a neutral status and only in the individual competition at the World Athletics Championships, which are currently taking place in New Delhi. The IPC made this decision because the athletes and all support staff have already been admitted to the competition in accordance with the neutral country regulations. This makes it impossible to make the necessary changes to the protocol.
