Russians fire on railroad in Poltava region: trains are delayed

On the night of Thursday, September 18, Russian troops attacked the railway infrastructure in Poltava region, Ukrzaliznytsia reported, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

As a result of the attack, several sections of the railroad were de-energized, and at least four passenger trains were delayed,

The company has engaged backup diesel locomotives. According to UZ, the following trains are delayed by up to three hours:

  • no. 102 Kherson-Kramatorsk,
  • no. 63/111 Kharkiv, Izyum – Lviv,
  • no. 64/112 Lviv – Kharkiv, Izyum,
  • no. 791 Kremenchuk – Kyiv.

As of 07:00 on September 18, the damage was localized and power supply was restored. UZ assured that further train traffic would continue as scheduled.

The head of the Poltava regional military administration, Volodymyr Kohut, said that the enemy had attacked railway facilities in the Myrhorod district. The strike caused fires and one person was injured.

This is not the first attack on the region in the last day. In the evening of September 17, Russian troops hit a gas station in Poltava region with a drone , which also caused a fire and injured a person. At night, the Air Force again reported massive drone attacks on the region.
