Russians report destruction of third bridge across the Seim River: enemy in the “cauldron”
19 August 2024 10:10
The third bridge over the Seim River in Kursk Oblast has been destroyed, Russian propaganda resources report. This means that several thousand Russian servicemen could be trapped in the ‘cauldron’. In particular, this was written by Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman Kirill Sazonov on his Telegram channel.
“Let us remind you that about 2,500 Russian soldiers and 700 square kilometres may be surrounded due to the blowing up of all three bridges in Glushkovo.”
Kirill Sazonov
Russian military commander Romanov says the situation is dangerous and demands that Rylsk and L’gov be evacuated before it is too late. Despite the approach of reinforcements, there is little hope for the Russian army here.
Ukrainian blogger and journalist Denis Kazansky is convinced that the blowing up of bridges makes it much more difficult for Russians to conduct combat operations.
“This is a severe blow to the logistics of a large group of Russian troops who remain between the river and the Ukrainian border. Now they can only be supplied by boat or pontoon. They will also have to retreat by swimming, without equipment.”
Denis Kazansky

Let me remind you that the information about the destruction of the first bridge over the Seim River appeared on 16 August. At that time, Russian propaganda media stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had allegedly fired two HIMARS missiles at the bridge, and that the second strike, which took place around 5pm, destroyed the bridge.
On Sunday, 18 August, Russia reported that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had damaged a second bridge over the Seim River in the Kursk region.
The Ukrainian side has not yet confirmed the destruction of the third bridge over the Seim.
Kursk offensive
The Ukrainian Armed Forces offensive in the Kursk region of Russia began on 6 August. Since then, there have been constant hostilities there, and Russia has introduced a counter-terrorism operation in three regions bordering Ukraine.
According to unconfirmed reports, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have advanced up to 30 km in some areas. Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky reported to Supreme Commander-in-Chief Volodymyr Zelenskyy that 74 settlements were under the control of the Armed Forces. Later, there was information about the control of 100 settlements and more than 1,000 square kilometres of territory.
on 16-18 August, the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed two bridges over the Seim River near Glushkovo, giving them a good prospect of controlling another 1,000 square kilometres of territory.
Ukrainian soldiers are breaking records for capturing Russians: the day before yesterday , they captured 102 Russian soldiers at a time.
