Russia has been thrown out of the Caucasus, where it has dominated since Griboyedov’s time, – political scientist Dimov

Russia is losing ground in the Caucasus due to its own weakening in the war against Ukraine, and the Kremlin’s attempts to reformat the geopolitical balance so far have failed. This was stated in an interview with "Komersant Ukrainian" by political scientist and head of the Center for Strategic Communications “Forum” Valery Dymov.
According to the expert, it is impossible to set strict “red lines” or fully guarantee stability in the current situation.
“During a war, and we are living in a global war, you cannot draw clear red lines. You cannot hedge all risks at once,” Dymov said.
The political scientist emphasized that the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia has created a new geopolitical vacuum, and Russia is no longer able to control the situation in the region.
“Russia is withdrawing from the region, and new players are entering. Nature is afraid of emptiness, and so is security. The displacement has taken place. And Ukraine did it thanks to the Armed Forces, which weakened Russia so much that it has no time for geopolitics now,” Dymov explained.
The expert also believes that the Kremlin’s attempts to impose the idea of a multipolar world on the United States and Europe are just a failed diplomatic game.

“Putin is trying to impose rules: if you act here, I will act there. But this is an attempt that, in my opinion, will not work,” he added.
According to Dymov, the Kremlin is seeking a new redistribution of the world on the model of Yalta-2, but the current international situation does not allow for such scenarios.
