Rozhkova may be fired because of political statements – Myseliuk

First Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Kateryna Rozhkova may be dismissed because of her public statements about the nationalization of PrivatBank and the role of the previous leadership of the National Bank. This was reported by the director of the Institute for Social and Political Design “Dialogue” Andriy Myselyuk in his blog on the website “Censor. Net”, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
According to him, Rozhkova’s posts on social media in support of former President Petro Poroshenko and former NBU Governor Valeria Gontareva irritated the current NBU Governor Andriy Pyshnyi, who allegedly “decided to speed up her resignation” in early August. Myseliuk also claims that Rozhkova’s 7-year term expired on June 15, 2025.
“It is said that Pyshnyi is very angry these days at Rozhkova’s post. So much so that he decided to speed up her resignation. In fact, Ms. Rozhkova’s 7-year term of office expired on June 15, 2025, but the head was in no hurry to dismiss her. But now he has ordered to accelerate Rozhkova’s dismissal, which is scheduled for early August,” the blogger writes.
Myseliuk attributes the possible personnel decision to the fact that Rozhkova in her publications paid tribute to former NBU Governor Valeria Gontareva and the then government, rather than the current leadership of the regulator.
“It looks quite cheerful when the deputy head of the NBU… praises… her predecessor and the previous government,” the author writes.
In the post, Myseliuk also claims that large-scale abuses at PrivatBank took place in 2013-2014 and were “covered up” until the nationalization in December 2016; he places moral responsibility on the NBU’s then leadership and supervision.
“It was under the control of Gontareva and Rozhkova at the NBU that not only the nationalization of Privatbank took place, but also the total abuse and embezzlement of this structure,” said Mr. Miseliuk.
As a reminder, the High Court of London found Ihor Kolomoisky and Hennadiy Boholyubov guilty of illegally withdrawing more than $1.9 billion from PrivatBank.
First Deputy Head of the NBU Kateryna Rozhkova published a post in which she called the court’s decision a victory for former President Poroshenko and former NBU Governor Valeria Gontareva and criticized the current head of the NBU for not congratulating the former leadership of the National Bank on this victory.
