The case is linked to a high-profile corruption scandal
As a reminder, on August 2, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced a high-profile expose after a report by NABU Director Semen Kryvonos and SAPO Head Oleksandr Klymenko. An MP was detained, as well as officials of district and city administrations and the National Guard.
According to media reports, this is MP from the Servant of the People party Oleksiy Kuznetsov. According to the NABU, he, together with officials of the Defense Ministry, organized a large-scale scheme to embezzle public funds during the procurement of drones and electronic warfare systems: the cost of the equipment was overstated by up to 30% of the contract amount. Four people were detained in the case.
on August 4, it became known that the defendants included Kuznetsov, the head of the Mukachevo District Administration, former head of the Luhansk Regional State Administration Serhiy Haidai, and the head of the Rubizhne City Military Administration Andriy Yurchenko.
The investigation is ongoing.
