Rubio says Maduro is already in US custody, military action in Venezuela is over

The United States military operation against Venezuela is over. President Nicolas Maduro is already in US custody.

According to "Komersant Ukrainian", U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio told U.S. Senator Mike Lee.

“I just spoke with Marco Rubio. He told me that Nicolas Maduro was arrested by the US military for trial on criminal charges in the US,” Mike Lee wrote on social network X.

According to Rubio, the military action was aimed at protecting those who executed the arrest warrant.

The secretary of state also does not expect further military action in Venezuela, as Maduro is in US custody. The capture of the Venezuelan leader was the main goal of the operation.

Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau also said that Maduro will face justice for his crimes.

“A new dawn for Venezuela! The tyrant is gone. Now he will finally face justice for his crimes,” he said.

The US operation against Venezuela

Today, on January 3, the United States of America launched a series of strikes on the Venezuelan capital, Caracas. Explosions were heard in the city.

According to local media, the United States struck the Venezuelan parliament building and the home of Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez. The strikes could also have targeted the southern districts of Caracas, in particular Fort Tiuna and the Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda air base;

In the Venezuelan capital, at least ten facilities could have been attacked.

Locals also reported a strike on the La Guaira naval base in Vargas state, where the maritime academy is located. There were also reports of strikes on the port of Caracas and Margarita Island in the Caribbean, where a significant amount of military infrastructure is concentrated.

Later, US President Donald Trump confirmed that the United States had successfully conducted a large-scale operation against Venezuela. President Nicolas Maduro and his wife were captured and taken out of the country.
