Moldova’s ruling party, Action and Solidarity, is ready to form alliances in the future parliament only with the country’s pro-European forces.

This was stated by the country’s President Maia Sandu, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports, citing local media.

“Only people who sincerely believe in European values can form a pro-European majority in the next parliament, and this is the only way we can move forward,” Sandu said during a conversation with journalists at a polling station.

Parliamentary elections began in Moldova on September 28, which may affect Sandu’s plans for further rapprochement with the EU.

As a reminder, the Moldovan president accused Russia of trying to interfere in the elections with the help of priests of the Russian Orthodox Church and prisoners in jails.

In addition, Sandu said that Russia allegedly wants to turn Moldova into a springboard for the invasion of Odesa.
