The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office has opened criminal proceedings against former Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, now Minister of Justice Olha Stefanishyna. This was announced by MP Oleksiy Honcharenko, referring to the NABU’s response, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

According to him, the criminal proceedings were registered on June 11, 2025.

“The SAPO has opened a criminal case against former Deputy Prime Minister Stefanishyna. She is suspected of abuse of power or official position, which caused grave consequences (Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” the MP said.

The response states that the case was opened based on the facts set forth in the Ukrainska Pravda article.

The information about the opening of the proceedings was confirmed to Ukrinform by the SAPO itself.

At the moment, no one has been notified of suspicion, and the pre-trial investigation is ongoing.

“The SAPO has initiated proceedings on the facts set forth in the Ukrainska Pravda article. At the moment, no one has been notified of suspicion in this criminal proceeding. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing,” said Olga Postolyuk, a spokeswoman for the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.

She clarified that the investigation is called “DARMA,” which alleges that the Asset Recovery and Management Agency chose a manager for the Trade Union Building in Kyiv – a company that may be linked to Stefanishyna’s ex-husband.

The minister stated that she had nothing to do with her ex-husband’s business.

It should be noted that Bihus.Info journalists found out: Stefanishyna lives in a three-room apartment in a business-class residential complex, which is registered in her mother’s name. This property was not listed in the declaration.

The sanction of Part 2 of Art. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides for a sentence of imprisonment for a term of three to six years with disqualification to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years, as well as a fine.
