The SBU has updated its contact information for public inquiries: the 1516 hotline is now operational

2 April 15:31

The Security Service of Ukraine has launched a new hotline number for citizens to report issues— 1516, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

The agency reported that calls to this number are free from landlines and mobile phones of all carriers within
Ukraine.

Why the new number was introduced

The SBU notes that Russian intelligence agencies are actively attempting to recruit Ukrainians to carry out illegal activities.

This includes, in particular:

  • planning terrorist attacks;
  • sabotage;
  • arson;
  • other actions benefiting the enemy.

The agency urges citizens to remain vigilant and not to fall for provocations.

When to contact

You are advised to call the 1516 hotline if:

  • you have information about preparations for terrorist attacks or sabotage;
  • strangers offer to set fire to buildings, carry unknown objects, or follow people or vehicles;
  • you have noticed suspicious objects or individuals;
  • you are aware of online resources used for recruitment;
  • you have other information regarding the activities of Russian intelligence agencies.

According to the agency, all reports received are thoroughly investigated, and the confidentiality of the reports is guaranteed.

Other Ways to Contact Us

In addition to the short number, you can contact the Security Service of Ukraine through other channels.

Specifically:

  • via the chatbot “Burn the FSB Agent”;
  • by email at [email protected];
  • via the previous hotline number 0 800 501 482, which remains active.

The SBU emphasizes that any report can help prevent crimes and save lives.
