Today, June 10, Ukraine and Russia conducted another prisoner exchange. They managed to release seriously wounded and wounded soldiers from certain categories agreed upon at the talks in Istanbul on June 2. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Telegram of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“We continue to return our people, as agreed in Istanbul. Today is the first stage of the return of our seriously wounded and injured soldiers from Russian captivity. All of them need immediate medical care. This is an important humanitarian act,” Zelenskyy said.
According to him, they managed to return soldiers from various components of the Defense and Security Forces of Ukraine: The Armed Forces, the National Guard, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, and the State Special Transport Service.

“The exchanges must continue. We are doing our best to find and return each and every one of those who are in captivity. I am grateful to everyone who helps,” the president said.
Zelensky also published the first footage of today’s prisoner exchange with Russia.

According to the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including representatives of the Navy, Army, Airborne Forces, Special Forces, Border Guard, National Guard and State Special Transport Service, returned to their homeland.
Among the defenders liberated today are the defenders of Mariupol, who spent more than 3 years in captivity. In addition to soldiers and non-commissioned officers, officers were also released.
The DIU reported that all of the defenders released today have severe injuries and serious illnesses: amputated limbs, vision problems, abscesses, infections, trauma, shrapnel wounds and chronic diseases. Some of the liberated soldiers were diagnosed with hepatitis and tuberculosis.

The returned defenders will be taken to medical centers to undergo all necessary examinations and sent for further treatment and medical rehabilitation. All the released defenders will be provided with the necessary assistance, their documents will be restored and they will be paid the appropriate financial support for their stay in captivity.
First videos of the prisoner exchange
The Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets published a video of today’s prisoner exchange.
Lubinets also showed a touching video with a defense lawyer who was released from captivity.
“Ukraine has not forgotten about us,” said the returned defender.
According to the SBU, today’s exchange of prisoners was the result of the work of the Joint Center for the Coordination of the Search and Release of Prisoners of War, the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War and other authorized structures that fulfilled the order of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The Service noted that Ukraine expects that the agreements on humanitarian issues reached during the meeting in Istanbul will be fully implemented.
