The famous French film actress, singer, and fashion model Brigitte Bardot has died at the age of 91, "Komersant Ukrainian" writes with reference to Le Figaro.

She was one of the sex symbols of the 1950s and 1960s.

During her 20-year career in show business, Bardot starred in 48 films and recorded about 80 songs.

Brigitte Anne-Marie Bardot was born on September 28, 1934 in Paris into a wealthy family. As a child, she studied classical ballet and planned a professional dance career, but an injury and health problems changed her plans.

Bardot entered the modeling business as a teenager – at the age of 15, she appeared on the cover of Elle magazine, which opened the way for her to enter the movie industry. She made her screen debut in the early 1950s and gained worldwide fame after the release of the film And God Created Woman (1956) directed by Roger Vadim. This role made her one of the most famous actresses in Europe. Her other most prominent films are the dramas Truth and Contempt.

Throughout her career, Brigitte Bardot appeared in more than 40 films, collaborating with the leading directors of her time and playing alongside the most famous actors of French and world cinema. At the same time, she was a musician and recorded songs, including those in collaboration with Serge Gainsbourg, which later became iconic.
