Serhiy Zhadan joins the Defence Forces

Famous Ukrainian poet and writer Serhiy Zhadan has joined the Defence and Security Forces. He wrote about it on social media, according to [Kommersant]
“I joined the ranks of the 13th Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine “Charter”. I am undergoing training. I serve the Ukrainian people)”
– he wrote.
At the same time, another member of the Zhadan and the Dogs band, Yevhen Turchynov, announced his joining the Charter.
Zhadan’s intention to mobilise was reported in late March.
“It seems to me that today there are no writers or non-writers, musicians or non-musicians – there are citizens of Ukraine who feel responsible for their country, and there are citizens of Ukraine who are trying to avoid this responsibility in one way or another. The army, in principle, equates everyone. Because our army is a fairly accurate cast, an imprint of Ukrainian society,”
