Fraudsters are active again: Hetmantsev warns of fake payments of UAH 6500

Fraudsters have become more active in Ukraine, offering to issue a payment of UAH 6,500 to Ukrainians.
This was warned by Danylo Hetmantsev, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada’s tax committee, [Komersant] reports.
“I see the intensification of fraudsters’ bot farms offering to “issue a card to receive a payment of 6500 hryvnias,” he writes.
Hetmantsev reminded that one should never click on dubious links and give out one’s bank card details. No government agency sends out links through third-party services.
“To receive state aid, there is no need to apply for ‘special’ cards, as most payments are made through Diia,” he added.
The country’s chief tax officer urged people to ignore such “offers” and not to share their data with third parties.
As a reminder, Ukraine is about to launch the “winter support” program in 2025. Ukrainians will be able to receive a one-time payment of UAH 1,000, and additional assistance of UAH 6,500 is provided for vulnerable categories.
“Warm Winter” program
As part of the initiative, the Warm Winter program will be launched – a one-time assistance of UAH 6,500 for the most vulnerable Ukrainians. In particular, it can be used by
- children from among internally displaced persons;
- children from low-income families;
- children under guardianship or custody;
- children with disabilities;
- children deprived of parental care and raised in family-type children’s homes or foster families;
- people with disabilities of the first group among IDPs;
- single pensioners who receive a care allowance.
TheMinistry of Social Policy estimates that approximately 660,000 people will benefit from the program, and the total amount of funding will be UAH 4.4 billion.
Payments will be made by the Pension Fund of Ukraine, and the money can be spent within 6 months on clothing, footwear, medicines, transportation or basic necessities.
Lists of those eligible to receive the aid were to be compiled by November 3. This data will be transferred to the Ministry of Digital Transformation, and then the categories of people who are eligible for this program will receive notifications in Diia. The mailing will be automatic.
If a person does not have Diia installed, he or she can personally apply to the Pension Fund for payment.
