On February 10, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the results of another conference call on the energy situation in the regions, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

According to him, the most difficult situation with electricity supply currently remains in the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Poltava regions.

In his Telegram post, the head of state noted that not all communities are resolving power outage issues in a timely manner, and that the response of local authorities to prolonged power outages is often delayed.

Where the situation is worst

According to the president, special attention was paid to the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Poltava regions, which are regularly shelled and where the most serious power outages are recorded.

Zelensky also reported problems in cities in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, particularly in Kryvyi Rih. He stressed that local authorities must draw conclusions about the timeliness of their response to prolonged power outages and the associated social consequences.

Criticism of the Air Force

The president also drew attention to the work of the Ukrainian Air Force. According to him, they must act much more quickly to strengthen the protection of the Kharkiv region and other regions bordering Russia from attacks by Shahed-type kamikaze drones and other strike drones.

“Ukraine does not have time to wait for individual elements of the Air Force to get ready,” Zelensky said, stressing the need to build up air defense capabilities as quickly as possible.

Support for communities with electric heating

The president also announced additional support measures for communities in the Odesa region where homes are heated with electricity. According to him, local authorities must provide a clear response for each such home regarding the actual provision of support to people in the event of power outages.

Additional equipment from partners

During the meeting, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on the receipt of additional equipment from international partners, in particular generators, which are to replenish reserves for rapid response in case of emergencies.

The president did not specify when exactly this equipment would be distributed across the regions, but stressed the importance of being prepared for new challenges in the energy system.
