After another massive Russian missile and drone attack, Ukraine’s power grid is once again operating under heavy load and damage. “Ukrenergo has published an operational report on the consequences of the attacks and the situation with electricity consumption, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
Massive attack and blackouts in the regions
On the night of November 25 and in the morning, the enemy carried out the sixth combined attack on power facilities in different regions in two months. Damage was recorded in..:
- Odesa region
- Dnipropetrovska oblast
- Chernihiv region
- Kharkiv region
- Kyiv region
- in the city of Kyiv
Large-scale power outages have occurred in a number of areas. Power engineers are working to restore equipment damaged by missiles and drones as soon as possible.
Emergency and hourly blackouts
Due to the impact of today’s and previous shelling, emergency blackouts were introduced in Kyiv, as well as in Kharkiv, Poltava and Sumy regions this morning.
In the future, the emergency blackouts will be replaced by hourly outage schedules, but their volume will be higher than previously forecast.
In other regions, outage schedules for 0.5-2.5 hours are in effect. Electricity consumption by industry is also limited to the maximum level across the country.
Growth in electricity consumption
According to Ukrenergo, the demand for electricity continues to grow.
As of 8:30 a.m. on November 25, consumption was 2.1% higher than the day before.
On Sunday, November 24, the daily consumption peak was recorded in the afternoon – the figure was 2.6% higher than on Friday.
The reason for the increase was fewer restrictions during the day.
Why it is important to save electricity
Despite the work of power engineers, the deficit in the system remains. “Ukrenergo urges Ukrainians to reduce the load on the grid in the evening:
- avoid using powerful electrical appliances
- postpone energy-intensive processes to after 10:00 pm.
Rational consumption will reduce the duration of forced outages and stabilize the system.

“Ukrenergo emphasizes that the state of the power grid remains dynamic. Ukrainians are urged to follow the messages of their regional power distribution company, as the schedules and mode of outages may be updated.
Power engineers are working in an intensive mode to restore power to all customers as soon as possible.
