Six strikes in a week: Russia intensifies attacks on Naftogaz facilities

Russian troops continue their targeted attacks on Naftogaz Group enterprises. The enemy has launched another strike on equipment used for natural gas production.

This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Naftogaz.

According to the company, six attacks on gas production infrastructure facilities have been recorded in the last week alone. These strikes are clearly targeted at civilian facilities and aimed at undermining the country’s energy security.

“These are targeted attacks on civilian infrastructure to leave Ukrainians without heat and gas during the cold season. Fortunately, there are no casualties. Specialists are already working on site,” the statement said.

Shelling of Ukraine on January 17

On the night of January 17, Russia launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine, firing 115 strike drones from different directions. Air defense forces destroyed 96 enemy drones.

At the same time, 16 attack UAVs hit 11 targets, and debris from downed drones fell on two other locations.

In the morning, Russian troops attacked Zaporizhzhia with strike drones. The shelling caused a fire, and hits on infrastructure facilities were recorded.

At night, an explosion was heard in Kharkiv, in a multi-story building. According to preliminary data, there are dead and injured as a result of the emergency.

Explosions were also heard in Kyiv, which was under attack by Russian drones.

In addition, the Russian army struck an energy facility in the Odesa region. A fire broke out at the site, and damage was reported.

In the Bucha district of the Kyiv region, about 56,000 households were left without electricity due to the enemy’s attack.
