The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine has imposed a fine of UAH 18.9 million on Salt Industry and Kip & Co Trading House for collusion in six tenders for the purchase of technical salt. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the AMCU.

“The Committee recognized the actions of Salt Industry LLC and Kip & Co Trading House LLC as violations of the legislation on the protection of economic competition in the form of anticompetitive concerted actions related to the distortion of the results of six tenders for the purchase of technical salt,” the statement said.

The bidding took place from May 2024 to March 2025 for municipal enterprises in Kyiv and Kryvyi Rih, and the total expected value of the contracts was over UAH 33.5 million. The AMCU found that the companies’ actions violated the Law on Protection of Economic Competition by distorting the results of the tenders.

“During the investigation of the case, the Committee established the circumstances and facts that, in their entirety, indicate the joint and coordinated behavior of the companies and, as a result, the commission of a violation and the elimination of competition between them during participation in the said tenders,” the statement said.

According to the Law on Public Procurement, companies that have been prosecuted for anti-competitive practices in the last three years may be excluded from participating in new tenders.
