Parking tickets can now be checked online: how Ukrainians can check and pay them
26 March 05:13
Ukrainian drivers can now check for parking tickets online. From now on, information about such violations is available on government digital services, allowing drivers to find out about the citation more quickly and avoid missing payment deadlines. This was announced by Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
Where to check parking fines
You can check fines for parking violations on the following services:
- Driver’s Electronic Account
- the Diya app.
These services display:
- parking enforcement officers’ citations;
- fine payment status;
- details of the violation.
According to Ihor Klymenko:
“The Driver’s Electronic Office and the ‘Diya’ app display inspectors’ citations and their payment status.”
In which cities is the service already available
As of now, the parking fine check service is already available in several Ukrainian cities.
Specifically:
- Zhytomyr;
- Khmelnytskyi;
- Lviv;
- Dnipro;
- Drohobych;
- Bila Tserkva;
- Vinnytsia.
Other cities are expected to be connected to the system in the near future.
Why this is important for drivers
Previously, drivers could only check online for traffic violations that were:
- were recorded by automated enforcement cameras;
- were issued by the patrol police.
At the same time, fines issued by parking enforcement officers were not always promptly reflected in the system, which meant drivers could:
- be unaware of the fine;
- miss the payment deadline;
- miss the opportunity to pay the fine at a discount.
How to pay a parking fine online
You can pay the fine immediately through digital services.
To do this, you need to:
- Log in to the Driver’s Electronic Office or the Diya app.
- Find the fine in the list.
- Check the details of the citation.
- Pay online with a bank card.
Who implemented the service
According to the Minister of Internal Affairs, the technical implementation was provided by:
- the Ministry of Internal Affairs;
- local communities;
- the state-owned enterprise “Infotech.”
The systems were updated to ensure that data on fines is transmitted quickly and accurately.
What will change for drivers
The digitization of services means that drivers will receive:
- quick access to information;
- transparency regarding fines;
- the ability to pay quickly;
- a reduced risk of penalties for late payment.
As Ihor Klymenko noted:
“We are continuing the digitization of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ services so that every citizen has convenient, transparent, and quick access to government services.”
