Scandal in Kyiv: a military man was not allowed into a restaurant, police started an investigation
14 January 10:25
In Obolon district of Kyiv, a restaurant refused to serve a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to an employee of the restaurant, this was an order of the administration. The Kyiv police opened a criminal investigation. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Main Department of the National Police in Kyiv.
According to OBOZ.UA, the incident occurred at the Noice restaurant.
It is reported that on Sunday, January 12, at 21:30, the soldier went to the Noice restaurant to drink coffee, and was stopped at the entrance by security guards who said that the owner of the restaurant forbade the military to enter. In the video, you can see how, when asked for clarification, the restaurant employee confirms that he will not serve the soldier.
“With all due respect, I was forbidden to serve (the soldier – Ed.),” the restaurant worker said.
When the soldier asked who exactly forbade it, the employee replied: “The management”.
The soldier said that law enforcement officers arrived at the scene and found out that the soldier was sober and did not commit any offenses, and then left.
According to the soldier, this is not the first case of such disrespect from the management of this restaurant. Every time the military arrive, Turkish citizen Ayhan Ozdemir calls the Obolon district police and the security police, as he uses the restaurant as his own office and holds meetings there, constantly speaking Russian.
“The restaurant’s management, represented by director Ruslan, manager Inna and co-owner Ayhan Ozdemir, a Turkish citizen, showed disrespect for the military,” the soldier emphasized.
The restaurant responded to the information about the incident.
“An unpleasant situation happened to our restaurant. We kindly ask you not to react and not to be led by provocative information spread on all social networks,” Noice said on social media.
They also noted that they would give an official explanation of what happened “in the near future.”

The police noted that the incident became publicized through a video posted on social media.
“It has been preliminarily established that last night, an employee of the establishment, while communicating with a visitor, an active serviceman, refused to serve him. The video of the incident was later shared on social media,” the police said in a statement.
The police opened a criminal investigation into the incident under Part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – gross violation of public order on the grounds of clear disrespect for society.
The sanction of the article provides for a fine of one thousand to two thousand tax-free minimum incomes, or probationary supervision for up to five years, or restraint of liberty for the same period.
Law enforcement is currently investigating all the circumstances.
