Scandal in Poland: vandals cut a cross from the dome of a Ukrainian church

                                                                    An incident occurred in Poland with the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. The damage to the church caused a resonance and an official reaction from Ukraine.
This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the publication of the Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland Vasyl Bodnar on his Facebook page.
In the Polish city of Legnica, unknown persons damaged the roof and cut off the cross from the dome of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland Vasyl Bodnar reacted to the incident.
“I want to express my concern and indignation of the Ukrainian community in Poland,” the diplomat wrote.
According to him, the Ukrainian embassy sent a note to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland. In addition, the Consulate General of Ukraine in Wroclaw appealed to the local police to promptly investigate the incident and bring the perpetrators to justice.
“I appeal publicly to the law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Poland to do everything possible to ensure that this and all similar crimes against Ukrainians and Ukrainians reach their logical conclusion – court sentences in accordance with Polish law,” Bodnar emphasized.
He also called on Polish society and authorities to respond to manifestations of anti-Ukrainian sentiment: “I urge my Polish friends and partners to respond to anti-Ukrainian trends in Polish society. We are convinced that for the Polish people, as well as for the Ukrainian people, damage to churches is unacceptable under any circumstances.”
