PlayCity, the state agency for the control of gambling and lottery business, has fined scandalous blogger Anna Alkhim UAH 4.8 million for illegal casino advertising.

This was announced by Gennadiy Novikov, Head of the State Agency of Ukraine for PlayCity, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

“Anna Alkhim was fined for advertising gambling on social media. PlayCity team found gambling promotion in the blogger’s content. Advertising on social media by bloggers is a direct violation of the law,” he wrote on Facebook.

“For some, it may look like ‘regular advertising’, but in reality, it is a story about responsibility. Hundreds of thousands of people subscribe to influencers of this level, and the trust of the audience should not become a tool for engaging in gambling,” he said.

“I hope this will be a signal to everyone who works with a large audience: direct or hidden gambling advertising on social media is prohibited. And we will respond to every case, regardless of the names and scale,” Novikov added.

In May of this year, the National Police opened a criminal investigation against controversial blogger Anna Alkhim, who is suspected of inciting national hatred. In the summer, she announced that she was leaving Ukraine and moving to Dubai.
