How much does it cost to publish a children’s book in Ukraine: a young author’s experience

Publishing a book at your own expense is not a cheap pleasure. It takes about 100 thousand UAH to get a book published. Antonina Kovalchuk, a young writer, told this in an interview with the YouTube channel "Komersant Ukrainian".
“My debut book, How a Cat Was Looking for a Family, cost me about 100 thousand UAH. That’s if you count the publisher and the designer. The book was published in 500 copies,” she says
The author emphasizes that the costs of a book do not end with printing.

“Then you have to invest in promotion: for example, to go to a fair, you have to pay for a place. That’s why the price in a bookstore now is 350 hryvnias, which is not much if you count the costs,” she added.
