The Ukrainian soldier whose body was burned with the inscription “Glory to Russia” returned from captivity during one of the previous exchanges. Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate, said this during a telethon, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports citing Ukrinform.
This photo, taken by a Ukrainian doctor during an examination of a soldier in a rehabilitation center, shows the brutal torture suffered by Ukrainian prisoners of war in Russian prisons.
According to the GUR, 90% of the released Ukrainian servicemen report violations of their conditions of detention, ranging from lack of food and medical care to ill-treatment. The Ukrainian side is systematically documenting these crimes for international review, involving human rights organizations and international courts.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the exchange of prisoners of war will last several stages, in which Ukraine will return wounded and seriously injured soldiers, as well as young soldiers under the age of 25.
These facts once again emphasize the need for international pressure on Russia to ensure respect for human rights and proper conditions for prisoners.
