Slovakia will transfer demining equipment to Ukraine for the first time

Slovak Interior Minister and leader of the Voice – Social Democracy party Matusz Szutaj-Estok said in a video on the party’s YouTube channel that Slovakia will for the first time provide Ukraine with demining equipment, [Komersant] reports.
According to Šutaj-Estok, Slovakia will not supply Ukraine with military equipment, as before.
“We will not send any weapons to Ukraine,” he emphasized.
The politician added that the demining machines would be the first humanitarian aid since 2023 approved by the government of Prime Minister Robert Fico.
on October 7, Fico said that Slovakia and Ukraine would hold talks at the government level. The meeting is scheduled for October 17.
According to the head of the Slovak government, some ministers of the two countries are to meet bilaterally before the governmental meeting. The government meeting will take place in Michalovce.
Fico clarified that he considers Defense Minister Robert Kalyniak’s trip to Ukraine as part of the preparations for the government meeting.
