“Servants of the People” get rid of MP Zadorozhnyi suspected of bribery (photo)

Servant of the People MP Mykola Zadorozhnyi, who was previously detained on suspicion of bribery, has been expelled from the party. The information was posted on the official Facebook page of the pro-government political party, according to [Kommersant].

“On 15 July, a meeting of the disciplinary commission of the Servant of the People political party was held, at which it was decided to expel MP Mykola Zadorozhny from the party. Law enforcement agencies have served him with a notice of suspicion of committing crimes under Part 4 of Article 368 and Part 3 of Article 27, Part 4 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine,” the statement said.

Zadorozhnyi became a defendant in a criminal case

On Monday, 15 July, the NABU reported that it and the SAPO had informed a member of the Ukrainian parliament of the IX convocation of suspicion of requesting and organising the receipt of an undue benefit to the head of a village council in Sumy region. It was a kickback of UAH 3.4 million for assistance with a tender.

According to the investigation, in March 2024, the MP asked the head of a village council in Sumy region to provide an undue benefit for not obstructing a tender for the repair of a water supply system in the Okhtyrka district of Sumy region. As the NABU and the SAPO found out, his kickback amounted to 10% of the total contract amount, and another 4% was intended for local law enforcement officers, who were not to obstruct the use of the allocated funds.

As the media later reported, it was Mykola Zadorozhnyi who was involved.

Born on 5 December 1984 in the village of Novoyulivka, Sofiyivka district, Dnipro region. He graduated from Kryvyi Rih State Pedagogical University. He is a teacher of physics and computer science. He is a sales and supply manager. He was also a teacher.
