The level of remuneration for prosecutors in Ukraine was revised at the end of last year: following amendments to the 2025 state budget law, official salaries increased. At the same time, the issue of systematic regulation of remuneration in the prosecutor’s office remains relevant.
This was stated in an interview with the YouTube channel "Komersant Ukrainian" by Oleksandr Filchakov, a prosecutor with the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
Commenting on the difference in remuneration between prosecutors and employees of other anti-corruption and law enforcement agencies, he noted that the changes were made possible thanks to the initiative of the leadership of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
“We are grateful to the current Prosecutor General because he took a very bold step. He was able to convince both the relevant committee and the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada to raise salaries,” he said.
According to Filchakov, this resulted in amendments to Ukraine’s 2025 budget law, which affected the calculation of official salaries.

“Previously, the minimum subsistence level for determining a prosecutor’s salary was 1,600 hryvnia, and since August 1 last year, it has been 2,102 hryvnia. As a result, the official salary of prosecutors has increased significantly,” he added.
The prosecutor stressed that revising the minimum subsistence level for calculating salaries was an important step toward stabilizing the financial security of the prosecutor’s office, but the issue of further systemic regulation of remuneration remains a subject of professional debate.
