As a result of a massive Russian attack on Kyiv, the famous St. Sophia Cathedral was damaged. This was announced by the Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications Mykola Tochytskyi, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

“Last night, the enemy struck again at the very heart of our identity. St. Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv, a shrine that has survived centuries and symbolizes the birth of our statehood, was damaged. The blast wave caused the destruction of the cornice on the main apse of the monument of national importance. This 11th-century church is the soul of all of Ukraine,” he wrote.

Tochytsky added that the Odesa Film Studio was also damaged in the night attack.

“At night, the Odesa Film Studio, the place where Ukrainian cinema was created, was damaged. Pavilions, storage facilities, scenery and vehicles were damaged. The scenery for Dovzhenko’s film, a national project about the most famous Ukrainian director, was completely destroyed,” the minister said.

Tochytskyi emphasized that “Russia is not only at war with our cities, it is waging a war against our culture, memory, and future.”
