The online selection of members of the Public Control Council of the Bureau of Economic Security has started today

Nine members of the BES Public Control Council, who will be selected as a result of the competition, will provide civilian control over the activities of the Bureau of Economic Security for the next 2 years, Komersant ukrainskyi
reports citing the announcement of the Bureau of Economic Security.
Voting takes place at the link and will last until 00:00 on 27.10.2024.
Every citizen of Ukraine who is in the territory of Ukraine can cast his or her vote for the 9 participants of the competition.

MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak decided to facilitate the process of getting to know the candidates and shared his thoughts on the candidates in Telegram.
He stated that a total of 44 candidates had applied and said that he had compiled a shortlist of candidates for all interested parties – those whom he was personally ready to advise to support (in the order they appear on the ballot, so that it would be easier to navigate later):

“There are even more worthy candidates than there are seats on the Public Oversight Council,” stated Yaroslav Zheleznyak and reminded that the POC is the body that will be able to conduct objective control over the BES’s tenders and activities and signal in case of problems.
The Bureau of Economic Security reminded that the terms of the tender were approved by Resolution No. 872 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 18.08.2021, and that the state-owned commercial enterprise Ukrainian Special Systems will protect the voting process from external interference.
