Today, power outages will be in effect in all regions of Ukraine: what is known
17 January 01:16
Today, January 17, hourly power cuts and power restrictions (for industrial consumers) will be implemented in all regions of Ukraine. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Ukrenergo.
The reason for the introduction of restrictions is the consequences of Russian missile and drone attacks on energy facilities.
“Attention! The situation in the power system may change. Find out the time and scope of power cuts at your address on the official websites of the power companies in your region,” Ukrenergo emphasizes.
Points of invincibility
The State Emergency Service is deploying new Points of Resilience throughout the country. Additional tents are being deployed in the capital, with more than 1,300 currently operating in Kyiv. Starting today, 50 mobile kitchens with hot meals will begin operating in areas where the situation remains difficult.
In areas with an emergency situation in the electricity sector, curfew restrictions may be relaxed. This means that people can be on the streets and in public places near Points of Resilience and heating points, as well as travel to them by private transport. The territory with relaxed restrictions is determined by the TEB and NS commission.
How many power outages will there be?
The number of simultaneous power cuts is not officially disclosed. Ukrenergo emphasizes that the situation in the power system remains dynamic and may change throughout the day.
Up-to-date information on:
- the time of power cuts,
- the duration of restrictions,
- specific addresses
residents are advised to check the official websites and pages of the regional power companies in their area.
Situation in Kyiv
We remind you that on January 13, after another attack by the Russian Federation, the situation with electricity supply on the right bank of Kyiv worsened and became comparable to the conditions of power outages on the left bank of the capital.
Energy companies are continuing emergency repair work and are calling on citizens to use electricity rationally.
What they advise consumers
Energy companies urge citizens to:
- to use powerful electrical appliances at night, if possible;
- avoid turning on energy-intensive appliances at the same time;
- follow only official sources of information to avoid misinformation.
Where to find your power outage schedule
Ukrenergo urges Ukrainians to follow updates on the official websites of their regional power companies. They publish current schedules and changes in power outages.
