Salaries of social employees were significantly increased: almost 2.5 times

Since January 1, 2026, the salaries of social workers in Ukraine have increased by almost 2.5 times.
At the end of December, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to increase salaries for specialists working for social and rehabilitation service providers, which came into force on January 1, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
In particular, the coefficient of 2.5 was approved in determining the amount of salaries of such employees.
According to the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity, this means an increase in salaries by about 150%: social manager (15th tariff category): from UAH 8,243 to UAH 20,607 (150%); social work specialist (12th tariff category): from UAH 6,773 to UAH 16,932 (150%); junior nurse (4th tariff category): from UAH 4,058 to UAH 10,145 (150%).
According to Government Resolution No. 1750 of December 26, the salary increase coefficient is not applied to determine the remuneration of specialists in support of war veterans and demobilized persons.
It is established that the salary increase will be carried out within the payroll fund provided for in the estimates for the relevant providers of social and rehabilitation services.
The regional and Kyiv city state administrations (military administrations) are instructed to ensure payment of salaries to employees of social and rehabilitation service providers in accordance with the resolution, and local governments are only recommended to ensure such increased payment.
Earlier, the Ministry of Social Policy reported that there are currently about 80 thousand specialists working in the field of social and rehabilitation services in Ukraine.
