During the audit, the Ministry of Defence found 30,000 turnstiles that had been in the warehouses of the Medical Forces Command for almost a year. Some of these products have already been handed over to the military, Kommersant Ukrainsky reports, citing the press service of the Ministry of Defence.
Auditors of the Ministry of Defence found nearly 30,000 new high-quality SOF medical turnstiles made in the United States in the storage of one of the military units under the Medical Forces Command in Zhytomyr region.
“These turnstiles were received back in April 2023, and only six months later the military unit issued the first of them to the military – only 458 units. The results of the internal audit were reported to the Minister of Defence of Ukraine Rustem Umerov,”
– the Ministry said.
After the audit, the responsible officials started issuing the turnstiles, and almost a third of them have already been handed over to the military.
The Ministry also initiated the distribution of other medical equipment (individual first aid kits, backpacks for combat medics), which had been stored in large quantities in warehouses for a long time.
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine is currently undergoing an audit in many areas. In particular, the MoD’s contracts for supplies ranging from weapons to food are being checked. Also, as stated by Supreme Commander-in-Chief Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a total audit should be conducted in the Armed Forces – this is one of the current tasks of the new Commander-in-Chief Syrskyy.
Auditors of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine found numerous payments of “combat” allowances to servicemen who, in fact, did not take part in hostilities.
