Russian dictator Putin’s special envoy arrives in the US: what is the purpose of the visit?

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s special representative for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, Kirill Dmitriev, is on a visit to the United States.

This was reported by CNN, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

The publication says that Dmitriev plans to meet with representatives of the administration of US President Donald Trump “to continue discussing relations between the United States and Russia.”

Dmitriev’s trip comes amid growing U.S. frustration with Russia’s policy toward Ukraine and after the White House said it had “canceled” a planned summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Before that, Trump announced that he had canceled a meeting with Putin in Budapest. In addition, the United States announced the introduction of new anti-Russian sanctions, which were the first in the second period of Trump’s presidency.
