Prometheus co-founder gives up his MP mandate

Prometheus co-founder Ivan Prymachenko has resigned from his post as a member of parliament. He announced this on his Facebook page, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

Prymachenko noted that he would be able to do more good as CEO of the educational platform.

“The work of the parliament is extremely important. But at this point, I feel that it would be irresponsible of me to leave work on a number of Prometheus strategic programs that are at a crucial stage of their life cycle,” he wrote.

Prymachenko said that he and his team are currently working on educational projects for the military, businesses, war-affected people, doctors, educators, and recovery support initiatives, which together should reach two million listeners in 2025.

“I will be happy to continue to support my colleagues from the Voice faction and all MPs who work for the good of the country outside of the parliament in every way possible,” he added.

In his comments, Prymachenko wrote that he would not have given up his mandate if he had been immediately elected to the Verkhovna Rada in 2019, as he would have had time to do more.

“High-profile positions are of little importance, the main question is where I can do the most good. And in this case, the answer is obvious to me,” he admitted.

It should be noted that on November 6, the CEC recognized Ivan Prymachenko as a member of parliament from the Voice party.

He was elected to the parliament after the death of Oleh Makarov, a member of the faction.
