The case of receiving a 2.1 million bribe by former Sumy mayor Oleksandr Lysenko has been sent to court. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the SAPO press service.
“The SAPO prosecutor, based on the materials of the NABU pre-trial investigation, sent an indictment to the court accusing the former mayor of Sumy and his accomplice, the former director of the Infrastructure Department of the Sumy City Council, of soliciting and receiving an undue advantage in a particularly large amount, namely UAH 2,130,000,” the statement said.

Between November 2022 and October 2023, the officers documented receiving illegal benefits totalling UAH 2,130,000.
on 2 October 2023, the mayor of the city and the director of the Department were caught red-handed immediately after receiving the third part of the agreed funds – UAH 1,430,000. Their actions are classified under Part 4 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
