The United States does not expect Ukraine to cede all the territories demanded by Russia.
Bloomberg writes about this, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
“The White House no longer seems to expect Zelenskiy to cede all the territory Putin is demanding as a price for peace, including vital fortifications held by Ukrainian forces in eastern Donbas,” the publication said.
The article says that the first and most reliable guarantee of security will be Ukraine’s own power. The United States should continue to supply Kyiv with modern weapons, and European countries should help finance these purchases.
US President Donald Trump has said that a possible meeting between Russian and Ukrainian Presidents Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelenskyy may not be fruitful. He admitted that the two leaders “don’t get along very well,” but “it takes two to tango.” The White House chief did not rule out the imposition of large-scale sanctions over the situation around Ukraine.
