US considers Iranian missile strike on Israel inevitable

US intelligence believes that an Iranian strike on Israel using missiles or drones is almost inevitable. A potential attack could occur in the coming days, Komersant ukrainskyi
reports citing Bloomberg.
American and Israeli intelligence agencies believe that the question should be “when” an attack will take place, not “if”.
Iran has threatened to strike Israel in response to last week’s attack on the diplomatic compound in the Syrian capital Damascus, which killed senior Iranian military personnel. Israel has not directly acknowledged that it was behind the attack, although it has traditionally maintained a policy of ambiguity regarding operations in Syria, Lebanon and elsewhere.
Israel’s Western allies were informed that the Israeli government and military targets could be targeted, but that civilian targets were not. Israel told its allies that it was waiting for this attack before launching a new ground offensive against Hamas in Gaza.
Western intelligence agencies claim that an attack by Iran or its proxies does not necessarily have to take place in northern Israel, which is bordered by Tehran’s ally Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Earlier on Wednesday, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed to retaliate against Israel for the strike on Damascus, which he said was tantamount to an attack on Iranian territory. Israeli officials have publicly threatened that Israel will retaliate against Iranian territory.
