The US has allocated a $425 million military aid package for Ukraine

US President Joe Biden spoke with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy and announced a $425 million aid package for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This was reported by the White House press service , "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“President Biden briefed President Zelenskyy on his efforts to increase security assistance to Ukraine during the remainder of his term in office. Today, the President announced a $425 million security assistance package for Ukraine,” the statement said.
The new aid package includes additional air defence equipment, air-to-ground munitions, armoured vehicles and critical ammunition to meet Ukraine’s urgent needs.
The White House also said that in the coming months, the United States will provide Ukraine with a number of additional capabilities, including hundreds of air defence interceptors, dozens of tactical air defence systems, additional artillery systems, significant amounts of ammunition, hundreds of armoured personnel carriers and infantry fighting vehicles, and thousands of additional armoured vehicles to help equip the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The Pentagon has said what the new package contains:
- additional ammunition for NASAMS and HIMARS;
- missiles for RIM-7 and air defence;
- stinger, air-to-ground and TOW missiles;
- 155 mm and 105 mm artillery ammunition;
- javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems;
- hMMWV vehicles;
- small arms and ammunition;
- grenades, spare parts, demolition equipment, vehicles, etc.
