The minerals agreement proposed by the United States remains under discussion. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration and Minister of Justice Olha Stefanishyna, The Guardian reports , "Komersant Ukrainian".
According to Stefanishyna, Ukraine “has not rejected” the agreement on critical minerals proposed by the United States, it is under discussion.
“We expect that it (the agreement – ed.) will be signed,” the deputy prime minister said during her visit to Warsaw.
As a reminder, on February 15, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that an agreement with the United States on the use of Ukrainian natural resources was not yet ready. According to him, these should be investments related to security guarantees.
At the same time, the media, referring to a draft version of the agreement on access to Ukrainian minerals worth $500 billion, wrote that the terms of this agreement offered by the United States to Ukraine are similar to those imposed on an aggressor state that has been defeated in a war and are worse than the financial sanctions imposed on Germany and Japan after their defeat in 1945.
