Shooting at Brown University: at least two killed

At least two people have been killed and eight others are in critical condition in hospital after a shooting at the American Ivy League’s elite Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports citing DW.
“The shooter or shooters have not yet been detained,” the media reported.
Law enforcement agencies and the US Federal Bureau of Investigation continue to search for the culprit. The university also urged students to stay put, lock all doors and not move around the campus.
Police recommend avoiding the scene
The dead and wounded are being identified. The shooting incident took place in the Barus & Holley building, which houses the university’s engineering school. The police recommend avoiding the scene.
All students and members of the university community who were in the Barus & Holley building at the time of the incident were asked to contact law enforcement. After receiving the notification of the incident, many people tried to hide in classrooms under desks and other furniture.
Several exams were scheduled to take place in the building from 14:00 to 17:00 local time.
The shooter is being identified
According to AP, the shooter was dressed in all black. According to Deputy Police Chief Timothy O’Hara, the suspect managed to leave the engineering school where the attack took place.
Mayor Brett Smiley urged those who live near the campus to stay indoors.
Barus & Holley has more than 100 laboratories, dozens of classrooms and several offices. According to eyewitnesses, armed law enforcement officers in tactical gear arrived at the scene. US President Donald Trump was informed about the incident, and he posted on Truth Social about the presence of the FBI at the scene. The university has more than 10,400 students.
