Svitolina rises to 13th place in the WTA world rankings

The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) has published an updated ranking. After a productive week, Ukraine’s top-ranked player Elina Svitolina moved up one position and is now ranked 13th in the world. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to updated WTA data.

Arina Sabalenka of Belarus remains the leader of the world rankings, having significantly strengthened her advantage over American Coco Goff after her performance at Wimbledon. There were no changes in the top ten.

Ukrainian women in the WTA rankings

Elina Svitolina became the most successful among Ukrainian women – 13th place (2,794 points). Marta Kostiuk retained her position at 27th (1,616 points). Diana Yastremska has made significant progress, moving up six places after reaching the semifinals of the Hamburg tournament – she is now 33rd (1,394 points).

Instead, several Ukrainian tennis players lost ground. Yulia Starodubtseva dropped two places to 74th place (875 points), and Angelina Kalinina lost four positions to 127th place (603 points).

Alexandra Oliynykova, despite winning the ITF W75 tournament in The Hague, dropped two positions to 172nd (420 points). Daria Snigur, on the contrary, improved her performance and returned to the top 200 (192nd place). The biggest leap forward was made by Anastasia Soboleva, who moved up 17 positions at once and is now 216th in the world.

The WTA updates the world rankings weekly, usually on Mondays. It is based on the results of tennis players over the past 52 weeks.

If there are no competitions in a particular week, the ranking is still revised taking into account the deduction or accrual of points for last year’s performances.
