Ukraine’s top-ranked player Elina Svitolina has been shortlisted for the prestigious Heart Award following the final stage of the Billie Jean King Cup 2025. Online voting for the winner has already started on the tournament’s website, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
During the September final round, Svitolina confidently defeated Spaniard Paula Badosa in the quarterfinals, and lost to Italian Jasmine Paolini in the semifinals after a hard-fought match. Paolini is considered one of Elina’s main competitors in the fight for the award this season.
In addition to the Ukrainian tennis player, the following players have also been nominated for the Heart Award:
- Jasmine Paolini (Italy) – she made a decisive contribution to the victory of the Italian national team, which won the Cup for the second time in a row.
- Elisabetta Cocciaretto (Italy) – created a sensation by beating the 18th world number one Emma Navarro in the final match.
- Jessica Pegula (USA) is the leader of the American team, who brought decisive points to her team in the semifinals.
The Heart Award is presented to female athletes who perform at the Billie Jean King Cup with dedication, courage and love for their country.
The winner receives $10,000 to donate to charity.
