Global electric vehicle sales grow for the seventh month in a row: records and market challenges

In November, sales of all-electric and hybrid vehicles increased by 32% compared to the same period last year. This is reported by Reuters with reference to data from the research company Rho Motion, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports. This is the third consecutive record result.
In total, 1.83 million electric vehicles were sold worldwide in November, including both fully electric and hybrid models.

Sales in the world
China’s share remains dominant: sales in the country grew by 50%, reaching 1.27 million vehicles, accounting for almost 70% of global sales for the month.
In North America (USA and Canada), sales increased by 16.8% to 170 thousand vehicles. At the same time, 280 thousand electric vehicles were sold in Europe, which is a slight decrease year-on-year but 7.7% more than in October.
In the rest of the world, sales remained at the level of November 2023, showing no significant growth or decline.
Challenges for automakers
European and American automakers are facing challenges, including trade tensions, changes in CO2 emissions regulations, and cuts in government subsidies in some countries. This is already affecting prices and putting thousands of jobs at risk.
The electric vehicle market is in a critical transformation phase, as demand and production in China are creating serious competition for other regions.
