Ukraine’s new Foreign Minister, Andriy Sybiga, has announced that he has submitted a motion to dismiss Deputy Minister Iryna Borovets. He is also terminating the long-term assignment of Ukraine’s Charge d’Affaires in Georgia due to “his complete lack of understanding of the realities of diplomacy in a warring state,” "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

Sibiga said he had held a meeting with our ambassadors and consuls general. He emphasised the priorities of Ukrainian diplomacy, and the absolute priority is weapons and other needs of the Armed Forces.

“Ukrainian diplomacy should work for the Defence Forces every day. I also announced our priorities for the next few months. There is a lot of work to be done. It covers very different issues, platforms and continents. The coordinating role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be strengthened,” he said in a statement.

The head of the ministry voiced “very clear criteria for the effectiveness of the work of the Ambassador of Ukraine”.

“These are concrete results, courage and proactivity. Ambassadors of a country at war cannot be detached from the realities of war. In this regard, I have decided to recall Ukraine’s Charge d’Affaires in Georgia,” explained Sibiga.

The minister also announced that he had submitted a motion to dismiss Deputy Minister Iryna Borovets.

According to him, “there will be a new structure of the Ministry, revised staffing of embassies”. Sibiga added that he had scheduled a meeting with the heads of leading industry universities to do so.

“We need young people to come to us. All conditions for this will be created – I have scheduled a meeting with the heads of leading industry universities,” he wrote.

The government has undergone a major reset: The Verkhovna Rada has appointed nine ministers, and three officials have been dismissed.
