The main task of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which have been conducting an operation in the Kursk region of Russia since August, is to destroy the enemy on its territory. This was stated by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi in Telegram, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

The commander-in-chief said that he worked in units and subdivisions involved in the fighting in the Kursk sector.

“The importance of this operational area cannot be underestimated given the number of enemy troops concentrated there. Our task in this area is to deter and destroy the enemy on its soil,” said Syrsky.

According to him, if it were not for the resilience of the Ukrainian military, these tens of thousands of enemies from the best Russian strike units would have stormed Ukrainian positions at the Pokrovske, Kurakhove or Toretske directions, which would have significantly worsened the situation at the front.

Syrsky noted that the Russian military, following the order of its military leadership, is currently trying to displace Ukrainian troops and advance deeper into the territory controlled by Ukrainian troops.

“My work was devoted to assisting commanders in organizing combat operations, increasing the effectiveness of enemy fire and addressing issues of comprehensive supply and training of reserves,” the chief summarized.

It should be noted that the Ukrainian side expects a counteroffensive in the Kursk region with the participation of North Korean troops “in the coming days.”

At the moment, the North Koreans are training with Russian forces in the far western part of the region.

As you know, North Korea has sent more than 10,000 troops to help Russia in the Kursk region.

The Russians are training the North Koreans in artillery fire, basic infantry tactics, and trench clearing.

Such exercises indicate that at least part of the North Korean forces will be involved in frontal attacks on Ukraine’s defense positions.
