31 May 2024 12:22

Saturday, 1 June, marks the beginning of not only the calendar summer in Ukraine. Ukrainians will face many innovations related to military registration, utility tariffs, government agencies, and even an update of the Ukrzaliznytsia train schedule.

[Kommersant] tells its readers what changes Ukrainians will face from 1 June.

Electronic military ID card

This document will be available in the Reserve app. The electronic military ID card can be presented to police officers, military commissariats or border guards if necessary. It can be issued using the Electronic Office of the person liable for military service, the State Web Portal of Electronic Public Services in the field of national security and defence or the Diia application (if technically feasible).

The electronic military registration document will have a QR code and can be used to find out the following information about the person liable for military service

  • information about the rank
  • information about the speciality;
  • information about the military examination;
  • results of the medical examination.

The “Reserve” application will be fully operational

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine is launching online recruitment to the Defence Forces in the “Reserve” application. With this feature, persons liable for military service will be able to view current vacancies in the Armed Forces and apply for the chosen speciality directly from their phones.

Currently, the Ministry of Defence cooperates with various platforms, such as LobbyX, work.ua, robota.ua, olx and the Unified Job Portal of the State Employment Service, where Ukrainians can choose to serve in the army and learn about the requirements and conditions. In addition, it is also planned to add an option for electronic referral to the military medical commission (MMC) in the future.

Electricity tariffs will increase

The price of electricity will increase in Ukraine from 1 June. According to Deputy Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk, the price will increase if it exceeds a certain level.

“This means that up to a certain level, consumers will pay the old price, and when it is exceeded, a new electricity price will be set. We hope that this will encourage not just economical, but reasonable consumption,” Hrynchuk explained on the air of the national telethon.

In turn, the RBC-Ukraine news agency, citing its own sources in the Cabinet of Ministers, published specific figures related to the new electricity tariffs. The media outlet reports that the price may remain at UAH 2.64/kWh for the first 100 kW of electricity consumed in a month. For kilowatts over this amount, you will have to pay 80% more – 4.8 UAH/kWh.

It will become easier to contact the tax authorities

Starting from 16 June 2024, taxpayers will be able to contact the State Tax Service of Ukraine via video. It is expected that a special section will appear on the STS website where you can sign up for a video conference and receive instructions on how to connect.

Ukrainians will be able to resolve the following issues via video conference

  • appeal against tax notices and other decisions of controlling authorities;
  • appeal against the decision to refuse to register a tax invoice/adjustment calculation in the Unified Register of Tax Invoices;
  • review the materials of audits, including electronic audits.

Travelling to Poland by rail will become faster

Starting from 9 June, Ukrzaliznytsia will speed up the train from Kyiv to Warsaw. The journey time will be reduced by 1 hour and 23 minutes.

The reduction in travel time was made possible by optimising border and customs operations at the Polish station Dorohusk.

Accordingly, train No. 67 Kyiv – Warsaw will depart from Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi station at 19:45 (instead of 18:19) and arrive at the final stop at 10:18 (instead of 10:15).

And the train №68 Warsaw – Kyiv will depart from Warsaw Vskhodnia station at 17:48 (instead of 17:50) and arrive at the final stop at 12:13 (instead of 12:17).

Weekends in June

Ukrainians will have a holiday on the following dates:

  • 8-9 June;
  • 15-16 June;
