Starting from 2026, electricity prices for household consumers (from December to December of the respective years) will increase annually by 15% (plus or minus 5%).
This is stated in the letter of the Ministry of Economy No. 3011-02/30287-03 with specified scenario conditions for the functioning of the economy for 2026-2028, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
In particular, electricity prices for households may increase by 15% annually with a fluctuation of 5%, meaning that the increase will actually be between 10% and 20% annually.
Meanwhile, the national energy regulator, the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission, approved an increase in electricity distribution tariffs for a number of distribution system operators (DSOs, oblenergos) after adjusting the tariff structure following inspections of their activities in previous years. The purpose of the increase is to allocate funds to pay off debts to NPC Ukrenergo and prepare for the heating season.
Currently, the tariff for households is UAH 4.32 per kWh, and the night tariff is UAH 2.16 per kWh. According to the forecast, if the rate of price increase continues, by the end of 2028 the basic cost of electricity may exceed UAH 6 per kWh.
