Terrorist attack in Lviv: Klymenko recounts how the suspected bomber was tracked down

The terrorist attack in Lviv on the night of February 22 was most likely carried out on Russia’s orders. The suspected bomber was quickly located thanks to CCTV footage.
This was reported by Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko in a comment to RBC-Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
“A terrorist attack took place in Lviv tonight. I immediately arrived at the scene. There is every reason to believe that the crime was carried out on behalf of Russia. The enemy is once again recruiting our citizens, creating deadly traps for Ukrainian law enforcement officers,” Klymenko said.
According to him, in addition to the deceased patrol police officer Viktoria Shpilka, 25 people were injured as a result of the terrorist attack. Currently, 11 people are in medical facilities, six law enforcement officers are in serious condition.
The minister said that he visited the wounded in the hospital. Doctors are providing all necessary assistance.
“Thanks to surveillance camera footage, we were able to quickly trace the suspect’s route and capture the moment when the explosive device was planted. Just 10 hours after the explosion, the police and the Security Service of Ukraine detained the suspected perpetrator,” Klymenko added.
Further operational measures and investigative actions are ongoing. Law enforcement officers are identifying other individuals involved in organizing this crime.
Terrorist attack in Lviv
As a reminder, explosions were heard in Lviv on the night of February 22. According to preliminary data, a 23-year-old policewoman was killed, and there are also other victims.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – a terrorist act that caused serious consequences.
According to the investigation, at 00:30, the 102 emergency line received a report of a break-in at a store on Danylyshyna Street. After the first patrol police crew arrived, an explosion occurred, and after the second crew arrived, another explosion occurred.
The explosions damaged a patrol police vehicle and a civilian vehicle.
As of this morning, it was known that law enforcement officers were injured in the explosions and at least one female police officer was killed.
By the afternoon, law enforcement officers had detained a woman who may be involved in the explosions in Lviv.
