Terrorist attack in Lviv: Zelensky’s administration wants to restrict Telegram’s operations

23 February 04:17

The operation of Telegram messenger and other anonymous platforms in Ukraine may be restricted during the war. This proposal was made after a terrorist attack in Lviv, whose perpetrator was recruited through this social network.

According to "Komersant Ukrainian", this was announced on Telegram by Iryna Vereshchuk, deputy head of the Office of the President.

According to her, the terrorist attack in Lviv has once again raised the issue of the functioning of services such as Telegram in the Ukrainian information space.

Vereshchuk stressed that the enemy systematically uses this messenger to recruit perpetrators, coordinate their actions, and organize terrorist attacks.

“This is another reminder for us to think about the functioning of Telegram and other anonymous platforms in our information space during the war. If we have to limit the capabilities of these platforms to protect the lives of our people and national security, then we must do so,” she said.
