Tetyana Chornovol may receive a mandate of MP instead of Andriy Parubiy

A military servicewoman, member of the Verkhovna Rada of the VIII convocation, journalist and public figure, Tetiana Chornovol, may become a member of the IX convocation after the murder of Andriy Parubiy, a member of the European Solidarity faction.

According to the website of the Verkhovna Rada, the European Solidarity faction currently has 27 MPs, three of whom were elected in single-member constituencies in the 2019 parliamentary elections, and 24 in a multi-member nationwide constituency by list, Parubiy was No. 2 on the list, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

According to the Central Election Commission, Tetyana Chornovol is 27th on the Eurosolidarity list, and Volodymyr Viatrovych and Iryna Nikorak, who became MPs after the elections after the resignations of Iryna Lutsenko and Mykhailo Zabrodsky in 2019 and 2023, respectively, are at numbers 25 and 26.

In the previous Verkhovna Rada, Chornovol was a member of the People’s Front parliamentary faction and the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense, and before becoming a member of parliament she was the Government Commissioner for Anti-Corruption Policy and an advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
